Let it snow!

It has sure been busy for us around here!  For the last month, we have been getting our house ready to put up for sale.  With the hopes to build a house ready for us in the spring.  We finally had a weekend to relax!  And...it decides to snow!  The weather has been so nice for us to prepare our house for show.  We knew the snow was coming though.  Winter ALWAYS has to come :-)

Michael and Bella had a GREAT time today playing in the snow.   Has been a perfect day!



But it has been a rough weekend for poor mittens.  He has the cone around the neck, and a soft casted leg.  Poor thing pulled a nail pretty deep.  He didn't like his visit to the vet yesterday.

Michael's 7th Birthday Party!

Michael had his 7th Birthday party last Friday at the Bowling Alley in Dakotah Sport and Fitness.  He had a Halloween Costume Party.  The kid's had a GREAT time!  Michael was the Black Phantom!

Maddie made it!

Maddie tried out for the 13's team at Northern Lights this morning. And she made it! She did a wonderful job! We don't know which team yet.... Won't get that until the end of the week.

Cross Country Meet Last Night!

Cross Country meet last night in Hutchinson.  Laker boys got 1st and the girls got 3rd!

Maddie was so excited!  Individually, Maddie got 4th place out of 24 runners.  She is posing here with one of her good friends from school.  He got 9th for the boys!

School is back in session...

Michael was very excited to start 1st grade today.  His new teacher, according to Maddie, is AWESOME! 

Maddi had to rise and shine pretty early today!  She did a great job getting up....she was so excited!  School starts at 7:15am and bus arrives at 6:55am. 

Maddy had her time trials this morning...

Maddy decided to try something new this fall.  In addition to playing on a fall volleyball league, Maddy went out for the Prior Lake Cross Country team.  She has just loved it!  She started 2 weeks ago, and has been running 3-5 miles per day.  Today, she had her time trials for the team.  Maddy was 35th to finish out of about 59 girls (2 mile).  She was at 20th place until a big stick jumped out in front of her in the woods, and tripped her.  She was o.k.!  Just glad no one ran over her with their spikes on.  Maddy will be on the C team.  First meet will be on Sept. 6th in Montgomery.

Scott found an old gas station in New Ulm.... And had to get a pic. Scott remembers filling gas with one of these. Not me.... Way before my time.

Our visit to the Schell's brewery

We decided to visit the Schell's Brewery in New Ulm. Was really cool! The kid's were excited since this was where 1919 root beer was made.

Flandrau state Park

We spent the weekend camping in New Ulm, MN. Was a beautiful weekend. Went swimming and spent saturday exploring some sites of New Ulm (a german town).

Enjoyed a baseball game at the Target Center. MN Twins vs Tampa Bay Rays.Twins lost 7-3 in the 9th inning.

Camping and a wedding at Two Rivers Campground!

This weekend we had a wedding to go to in Little Falls, MN. We decided to go camping instead of getting a hotel. A little different getting ready to go "out" in a camper. We had a GREAT time! And Renee and Rick's wedding was beautiful at the Camp Ripley Chapel in Little Falls. Renee has been taking care of both kid's since Maddie was 5 for the before/after school program. She is a very special friend to us. We had a GREAT time at her Hawaiian wedding! Aloha!
