The No. 1-ranked Lakers went 5-0 and didn't lose a set, including rolling over No. 7 North St. Paul in the title match (25-22, 25-14). 

Prior Lake improved to 23-2 overall. The 23 victories also tie a program-best for wins in a season. The Lakers will try to break the mark in South Suburban Conference play Oct. 7 at No. 5 Lakeville South at 7 p.m.

Prior Lake goes into the match with the Cougars 7-0 in the SSC, while the Cougars are 6-1, as are No. 6 Eagan and Rosemount. 

At the invite, the Lakers swept Hill-Murray (25-20, 25-19) and East Ridge (25-18, 25-15) to open play Oct. 3. The next day, Prior Lake rolled Sioux Falls Roosevelt (25-14, 25-16) and Maple Grove (25-16, 25-16) to get to the title match.

Junior Lara Schultz had a dominate invite, recording 46 kills in the five matches, while adding 11 ace serves and nine blocks. She had 10 kills and four aces in the title match.

Junior Ella Francis finished with 28 total kills and two blocks, while junior Olivia Spanton had 19 kills, 44 digs and four blocks.

Ninth-grader CC McGraw finished with 23 kills, 30 digs, three ace serves and three blocks, while sophomore Anna Martin had nine kills and nine blocks and sophomore Maddie Bremmer had 10 kills and seven blocks.

Leading the offense was senior Sammi Pratt and sophomore Ellie Veldman, who finished with 60 and 51 set assists, respectively. Senior Brittany Luethmers had 71 digs in the five matches, while Pratt had 15 and Veldman had 14.

Prior Lake went into the invite off a SSC home sweep of Eastview Oct. 2. (25-16, 25-19, 25-18). Schultz finished with 17 kills to lead the way, followed by Spanton with nine, Martin with eight and Francis with seven.

Veldman led in assists with 15, while Pratt had 14. Pratt led in ace serves with five, while Schultz had four and McGraw had two.

Luethmers led in digs with 15, followed by McGraw (10), Pratt (8) and Spanton (6). Bremmer recorded two blocks.

The Lakers will close out the regular season Oct. 14 at home versus Farmington in SSC play at 7 p.m.
